My Favorite Winter Scene – Winter 2018 Biannual Bibliothon Blog Challenge Day 3

It’s time for day three of the Biannual Bibliothon! Today’s challenge was created by Firewhiskey Reader and it is to describe your favorite winter scene from a book and explain why you would want to be in it. I tried really hard to think of a more original answer, but my mind just kept coming back to Harry Potter. I have two scenes in mind.

The first one is a Christmas spent at Hogwarts. I’d spend the day having snowball fights outside of the castle with the Weasley twins, eating a feast in the Great Hall, and playing games with Ron and Hermione in the common room. This scene is based on the one inĀ Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and it’s significant because it’s one of the first times Harry truly feels accepted, as though he’s part of a family. I would want to be in this scene because it just sounds like such a fun and exciting Christmas.

The second scene I have in mind is a Christmas at the Burrow. I can imagine spending the day with Hermione and the entire Weasley family. Mrs. Weasley would knit me my own sweater with a “K” on it and make a delicious meal. Dinner would be loud but funny. Everyone would be telling stories and Fred and George would probably play pranks on everyone else. Afterwards, we would all go outside and play Quidditch. I would want to be in this scene because it sounds like the ideal cozy Christmas surrounded by family.

I would love to live out a wintery scene fromĀ Harry Potter, whether it be at a Christmas at Hogwarts or at the Burrow.
