Top Ten Tuesday: Books With My Favorite Color On The Cover

Top Ten Tuesday 001.jpg

Hey guys! 🙂

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and has since been relocated to That Artsy Reader Girl. I think the Top Ten Tuesday meme seems really fun and I want to post more of my personal “top tens.” I thought this week would be a perfect time to start because this Tuesday the theme is “Top Ten Books With My Favorite Color On The Cover.” I’m pretty obsessed with the color purple and really obsessed with book covers that have purple on them. There aren’t many but the ones that do exist are so pretty! 😍 Here are ten books that I’ve either really enjoyed or that are on my TBR:

Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody

Wow, what a surprise!! I found another reason to mention this book. (Purple is apparently not the only thing I’m obsessed with.) Not only is this one of my favorite novels, it has one of my favorite covers. First of all, I think it represents the story perfectly. But beyond that, just look at it!! It’s so purple-y and smoky and perfect 😍

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling

There isn’t too much purple on this cover but I had to include it because the Harry Potter series has such a special place in my heart. This novel was one of my first favorites and I love it even more each time I read it.

Glass by Ellen Hopkins

This is the sequel to Crank, a story about a girl whose life spirals out of control after she tries crystal meth. Ellen Hopkins writes her books in the form of several individual poems and she often writes about heavy issues such as drug addiction, teenage pregnancy, depression, eating disorders, etc. She was my absolute favorite author when I was in my early teen years. I was extremely angsty and her novels were a perfect fit for me at the time.

Geekerella by Ashley Poston

Unpopular opinion: I really like this cover. It’s cute overall but I’m of course especially attracted to the purple fade in the sky. As for the book, it’s a super cute Cinderella retelling. Popular opinion: I love how this book demonstrates its appreciate of fandoms. It embraces the idea that being a nerd is awesome and I’m all about it.

Wayfarer by Alexandra Bracken

This is the sequel to Passenger, a novel about a time-traveling girl and a friend she makes on her journey as she is forced into a mission through time. I really enjoyed the first book in the duology and thought it was a fun adventure with an intriguing plot. Although I own Wayfarer, I haven’t read it yet. I’ll most likely change that soon because this novel is always catching my eye on my shelves.

The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan

I was honestly a bit hesitant to read this at book at first because I don’t usually go for magical realism. However, after hearing so many amazing things about it and seeing that the e-book was on sale, I decided to purchase it. Now it has been added to my endless TBR (I totally didn’t just get home from the book store…).

Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann

I love the accent of purple on this cover. I’m particularly excited to read this book because it will be my first with an asexual MC. Also, the romance sounds so sweet and heart-warming. This seems like it will be a good summer-time read.

The Library of Fates by Aditi Khorana

This book caught my eye not only because of the cover (I love that pink-to-purple fade!!), but also because the story sounds so unique. It sounds unlike any other mythology I have ever read. Also an oracle sends the MC on a quest to find the Library of All Things where it is possible to reverse a person’s fate?! Wow.

Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings

I have heard mixed reviews about this book but I love hearing when book bloggers and/or BookTubers publish their own books (it’s so exciting!!) so I want to give this a try. Also, no matter how many space-themed book covers there are, I can’t deny that they’re usually gorgeous. I love the combination of the blues and purples on the cover of Zenith!

Between the Blade and the Heart by Amanda Hocking

I love how vivid the color purple is on the cover of this novel. Between the Blade and the Heart is an urban fantasy that incorporates Norse mythology. I’ve been interested in learning more about the vikings and their beliefs and I thought this would be a fun way to do so because I find the plot to be very intriguing. I own a copy of this book but haven’t read it yet, so hopefully I will soon.

So there are my top ten books with purple on the cover! Comment and let me know what your favorite color is! What books have your favorite color on the cover?
