Top Ten Tuesday: Summer TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and has since been relocated to That Artsy Reader Girl. This week, the topic is either beach reads or your summer TBR. I’m going to combine them and list books I plan on reading on the beach during my upcoming vacation.

➳ Save the Date by Morgan Matson

Since this book is about a wedding that takes place during the summer, now is a perfect time to read it. It’s a cute contemporary that focuses on family and as you can tell from my next few choices, I really enjoy reading fluffy contemporaries on the beach.

➳ Autoboyography by Christina Lauren

I’ve heard so many things about this adorable YA contemporary novel that focuses on a m/m relationship. It sounds like the kind of book with a happy ending which makes it a perfect beach read.

➳ The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

While reading blog posts and watching BookTube, this is definitely the adult romance/contemporary novel I hear about the most. I haven’t heard a single bad review about it and I’m very eager to see if I love it as much as everyone else does.

➳ The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

This is an adult contemporary romance that came out earlier this month. As a math major, I love books that reference math even if it’s not the main focus of this book. That drew my attention to this book, but I’m going to read it because it seems like another cute, fluffy read.

fat girl on a plane 002     to kill a kingdom 002     the seven husbands of evelyn hugo

➳ Fat Girl on a Plane by Kelly deVos

Not only is there fat rep in this book, but it’s about pursuing your dreams. Uplifting books like this one are perfect reads for happy summer days.

➳ To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

As a dark retelling of The Little Mermaid, the ocean is definitely a major setting in this YA fantasy novel so I think it’s going to be a perfect read while I’m laying on the beach. I’ve been wanting to read this twisted love story about a siren and a siren-hunter for months and I’m hoping to finally get to it.

➳ The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

One of my favorite BookTubers is emmmabooks and I tend to pick up almost every book she recommends haha. She was raving about this one in a recent video and it sounds really interesting so I bought it and I’m planning on reading it while I’m on vacation.

white rabbit     the woman in the window     the flight attendant

➳ White Rabbit by Caleb Roehrig

This novel sounds like a really intriguing YA mystery/thriller with LGBTQ+ rep. The rest of the books on this list belong to the mystery/thriller genre. In addition to cute, fluffy contemporaries, they’re my favorite type of book to read during the summer.

➳ The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn

I’ve been wanting to read this book for months and I’m determined to finally get to it. It gives me Girl on the Train vibes which is the book that started my mystery/thriller binge, so I’m really excited to see if it’s similar. Regardless, I have a feeling I’ll like it even more as I’ve heard much better reviews for this book.

➳ The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian

This novel is about a flight attendant who wakes up next to a dead man and can’t remember whether or not she killed him. The premise drew me in from the moment I read it and I’m looking forward to finally finding out if this novel is as exciting as it sounds.

Let’s Talk!

What’s on your summer TBR? Do you have any good summer recommendations?
