Happy Halloween!!

Halloween is my favorite holiday and I’m so excited that it’s here! To celebrate, I wanted to do the Halloween Creatures Book Tag 🙂

 

Witch

A Magical Character or Book.

I just finished this one a few days ago and I thought the magic system was really interesting. I enjoyed it overall and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

 

Werewolf

The Perfect Book to Read at Night.

I recently picked this one up because I wanted a good Halloween read. I’m really enjoying it so far! It’s a middle grade, so it isn’t horrifying, but it is pretty spooky. Because of the atmosphere of the story, it’s a great book to read at night.

 

Frankenstein

A Book that Truly Shocked You.

I was pretty surprised by the ending of this one and I really enjoyed the story leading up to it too. I can’t wait for McManus’ next book to come out in January!

 

The Devil

A Dark, Evil Character.

Scythe Goddard may have thrown a lot of parties and walked around covered in diamonds, but he was evil. I can’t express how angry he made me and how frustrated I was that people continued to fall for his act.

 

Grim Reaper

A Character that Should Never Have Died.

There are so many characters from Harry Potter that shouldn’t have died (Sirius, Fred, Dobby, and so many others) but I feel like those are all obvious answers so I’m going to go with Mateo and Rufus from They Both Die at the End. I realize that the fact that they were going to die is the reason they met, but I wish things could have been different and that they could’ve had more time together.

 

Zombie

A Book that Made You “Hungry” for More.

I absolutely adored this book and it left me hungry for more of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s writing. I think the next book by her that I want to read is One True Loves. It sounds really interesting and it gives me Cast Away vibes.

 

Gargoyle

A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost.

I love all six of the main characters, but I especially love Nina. I just think she’s perfect and I would do anything to protect her.

 

Vampire

A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You.

This book got so much hype and I was so disappointed by it. It was honestly hard to get through.

 

Ghost

A Book that Still Haunts You.

This one was hard because I haven’t read many horror books so I couldn’t really think of any that haunt me in a spooky way. I’m going to go with The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks because the ending does haunt me in the fact that it was so heart-breaking. This story represents everything beautiful and unfair about the world haha.

 

Demon

A Book that Really Scared You.

Unfortunately I have yet to finish any horror books and I definitely have to add some to my TBR. Instead, I’m going with the movie The Ring for this one because I was terrified of this movie as a kid.

 

Skeleton

A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With.

In honor of Archenemies coming out next week (!!!), I’m going to go with Nova for this one. I recently mentioned how I hate when girls are trying to be “strong” so they’re cold and rude (I’m looking at you, Feyre!). Nova is a little different because she has good reason to be angry and scared, but nonetheless she builds up walls and won’t let anyone in. I know it’s complicated, but I just want her to open up to Adrian.  

 

Mummy

A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time.

I was tempted to say Harry Potter, Six of Crows, or something by Nicholas Sparks but those are too obvious. I’m going with Heretics Anonymous which I read a few months ago and absolutely loved. I don’t think I praise this book enough because it was hilarious and thought-provoking and all-around enjoyable.

 

Creepy Doll

A Cover too Scary to Look At.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with a scary cover so for this one I actually just Googled “scary book covers” haha. This is definitely the worst one in my opinion. It looks like some type of experimentation and you can see the fear in the eye and ugh… I can’t look at it anymore.
