Thank you so much to Cat for tagging me! Please check out her blog! Not only is her content wonderful, but she’s the absolute sweetest and one of my good friends ❤

1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

I spend most of my time at home in my room so I tend to get comfy and read in my bed. For me, nothing compares to curling up in my bed with a good book 😍

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?

Ideally I’d prefer to use a bookmark and I’ve been trying harder to make sure I have one with me lately, but I have used random pieces of paper in the past. For some reason, I used to use pieces of receipt paper from the store I worked at for a while haha.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?

I’d prefer to stop reading at the end of a chapter but if something comes up I will sometimes stop wherever I am.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?

No! If I get hungry/thirsty I take a break to eat/drink, but I don’t do that while reading because I’m not good at multitasking and I’d probably make a mess and if I got food on my book I would be so upset 😦

5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

I can usually read with either going on in the background. My family can be pretty noisy and I got used to reading around them, so noise doesn’t bother me too much. I actually keep the TV show Friends on in the background when doing pretty much anything (because I have an unhealthy obsession haha), so that applies to while I’m reading too.

6. One book at a time or several at once?

Ideally, I’ll read one physical book and listen to one audiobook at the same time. Lately though I’ve been trying to read a bunch of different books by certain deadlines so I’ve been reading several at once but I honestly feel really overwhelmed and once I finish these I’m going to go back to limiting myself again.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?

Everywhere! I honestly think about reading all the time so I bring books with me wherever I go. Like I said, I love to curl up in my bed with a book, but when I can’t do that I’m happy to read wherever I am!

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?

I read silently in my head. The only time I read out loud is if I’m reading someone a quote that I like.

9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

I don’t intentionally read ahead but I do flip to the end of the chapter to see how long it is. I occasionally accidentally see spoilers when I do that though so it’s a habit I kind of want to break 😭

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

I completely agree with Cat’s answer for this one. What kind of monster would purposely break the spine?! I always do my best to take good care of my books and keep them like new so if the spine breaks I get really upset.

11. Do you write in your books?

Nope. I’ve only written in a book one time and it was when I bought a second copy of The Fault in Our Stars so that I could annotate it. I also went through a phase where I highlighted my books though but that started to bother my OCD so now if I want to mark anything I use sticky-notes.

I’m not sure who’s already done this and there’s absolutely no pressure. I also tag anyone else who’s interested in doing it 🙂

  1. Yeah, eating with a real book is hard, but I often snack when I read on my kindle 🙂 but I hate there being random noise in the background when I read. I guess I hate random noise in the background in general xD and I read so many books all at once! At least five, usually. And I also get really upset when the spine or corners get messed up. Another plus of the Kindle xD

    1. That’s a great point, I didn’t think about when I’m reading an ebook! I do have a Kindle but it’s not with me at school so I mostly read Kindle books on my phone! That’s totally understandable, I think background noise bothers most people! I’m just so used to it haha. Omg how do you handle reading that many at once?! That’s so impressive 🙂 Yes! I’m always worried about putting my books in my backpack and taking them with me to class because I’m worried the corners will get messed up 😦 That is another positive aspect that hadn’t occurred to me! Thanks so much for the comment, love!! ❤

  2. I’ve got this weird tic that I do when I’m a few chapters in, and it’s skipping to the end of the book and reading the last sentence. It’s usually so out of context that I don’t find it spoils anything, but it sets me at ease before reading the rest of the book.

And I use receipts as bookmarks all the time! It’s usually all I have laying around to mark where I’ve left off haha

    1. I totally understand! I used to look ahead to the last sentence to see how it affected my reading experience. I liked seeing how when I actually got to the last line, it all finally made sense. I try to resist doing that now though, just in case there are spoilers. But I see where you’re coming from 🙂

Haha exactly! I always have so many laying around, it’s just so convenient!
