Panic! at the Disco Book Tag

patd book tag.png

Panic! at the Disco is one of my all time favorite bands. I’ve been listening to them for about ten years and my love for them is still going strong. Their new album is all I’ve been listening to lately so when I saw this tag on Thrice Read a while back, I knew I wanted to do it.

The Death of a Bachelor – A Romance Book

the kiss quotient

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where romance is the main focus, but this one is on my TBR! It sounds cute and steamy and I’ve heard amazing things about it! I’ve had so much schoolwork that I haven’t been reading as much as usual lately, but when things slow down I’m hoping to pick this one up!

High Hopes – A Book You’re Really Excited For

wildcard

Warcross was one of my favorite books last year and ever since finishing it, I have been waiting (very impatiently) for the sequel. Well, it finally came out and I’m thrilled!!! Considering how amazing the first book was, I have very high hopes for Wildcard and I can’t wait to read it!

Miss Jackson – A Book with a Betrayal

six of crows 002

I can’t really write much about this without revealing some spoilers, so I’ll just say that there are quite a few betrayals in this novel that I did not see coming!

Girls/Girls/Boys – A LGBTQ+ Book

girl made of stars

Although the LGBTQ+ themes in Girl Made of Stars aren’t the main focus of the book, they were very present. The main character, Mara, is bisexual. She’s recently gone through a difficult break-up with Charlie, who is genderqueer. I’ve never read another novel that explains the genderqueer character’s perception of their own identity so clearly and some of the discussions that Mara and Charlie had were very eye-opening.

I Write Sins Not Tragedies – A Book Featuring a Wedding

save the date

I finished buddy-reading this book with my lovely friend Cat last month but I still haven’t written my review because I’m the worst lol. However, Cat wrote a lovely review and I strongly agreed with everything she said, so if you want to check that out you can find it here 🙂 Anyways, this book takes place over the weekend of the main character’s sister’s wedding when basically everything imaginable goes wrong. From what I’ve heard, a lot of readers expect this to be a romance, but it’s actually mainly focused on family. Overall, I thought it was a really enjoyable read!

Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time – A Book Featuring a Partying Protagonist or a Party Scene

scythe 001

Once again, I won’t say too much about this in order to avoid spoilers, but I will say that there are some party scenes in this book. There are even professional partiers!

Say Amen (Saturday Night) – A Book with an Unapologetic Main Character

broken beautiful hearts 002

I loved the main character, Peyton, in this book! She’s unapologetic in the way that she knows who she is and she sticks to her beliefs no matter what anyone else may try to convince her and she doesn’t let others make her feel guilty about it. She’s very strong-willed and independent overall and I really admired her.

This Is Gospel – A Book From a Trilogy

tatbilb movie

I’m currently reading Always and Forever, Lara Jean, the third book in this trilogy. I’ve really enjoyed these cute, fluffy books and I can’t wait to see how Jenny Han wraps the series up.

Emperor’s New Clothes – A Hardback that Looks Beautiful Naked

wicked deep deluxe

I’ve mentioned this a few times in other posts, but I’m obsessed with the way The Wicked Deep deluxe edition hardcover looks without the dust jacket. I’m a huge fan of witches and I’ve been to Salem several times because I just love learning about the Trials and enjoying the spooky atmosphere. I think the moon and stars on this hardcover give the perfect Wiccan vibes to fit this wonderfully witchy novel.

Victorious – An Empowering Book

moxie

Moxie is so incredibly inspiring. Not only is there an emphasis on feminism, but there’s also a general message to voice your opinion and fight for what you believe in. Viv is such a strong character that you can’t help but love. There’s something important for everyone to take away from this book.

Impossible Year – A Really Sad Book

a walk to remember.jpg

Answering this question was honestly just a matter of choosing a Nicholas Sparks book haha. Thinking back to the ones I’ve read most recently, it was between The Best of MeTwo By Two, and A Walk to Remember. I chose this one because even thinking about it just hurts. This book is the definition of heart-breaking.

King Of The Clouds – A Prize-Winning Book

the hate u give 002.jpg

The Hate U Give has won a ton of awards and it is deserving of all of them. I loved this book when I read it last summer, and I loved the movie when I saw it earlier this week!! It’s an honest, sad, and inspiring story about treating others with respect and finding your voice.

Hey Look Ma, I Made It – A Debut Author

nice try jane sinner

Nice Try, Jane Sinner was Lianne Oelke’s debut novel and I will without a doubt read everything she writes in the future. This book was so entertaining and I love Oelke’s sarcastic sense of humor. This was an A+ debut.
