This post is dedicated to my Christmas favorites. I chose one of each category (movie, book, episode, song) and some honorable mentions. Please comment and let me know what your Christmas favorites are 🙂
Movie
Home Alone/Home Alone 2
These are obvious choices, but for good reason. I love the first two Home Alone movies! In fact, I’m not sure whether I like the first or the second more. I love watching them every year around Christmas, and I remember one year I just watched them over and over again while I drank sugar cookie egg nog, and that’s one of my favorite Christmas memories. I think these movies are so cute and funny, and I love seeing the clever ways Kevin outsmarts Harry and Marv.
Honorable Mention: I really enjoy Christmas with the Kranks. I’m not even sure I could say it’s a “good” movie technically, but it’s a feel-good movie and I’ve been watching it ever year since it came out so it’s a Christmas tradition for me now.
Book
The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand
I read this book right before Christmas last year and I loved it. I thought the concept of Project Scrooge was so unique, I loved Holly’s character development, and I thought the romance was really cute. If you’re looking for a good holiday read, I’d highly recommend this one!
Honorable Mention: I just finished My New Crush Gave to Me by Shani Petroff, and I was honestly surprised by how much I liked it. I thought it was going to be a cheesy holiday story, and it was a teeny bit cheesy, but it was super cute and enjoyable.
Episode
“The Holiday Armadillo” from FRIENDS
You’re probably not surprised, and you’re also probably sick of hearing me talk about FRIENDS by now, but I had to include this because it’s a great holiday episode. A lot of the holiday episodes in FRIENDS take place on Thanksgiving, but this is the main Christmas one.
Honorable Mention: I was trying to think of some other favorite Christmas episodes and I realized I haven’t seen many. One I remember loving when I was a kid was “Aaron Carter’s Coming to Town” from Lizzie McGuire. Lizzie gets to be a dancer in Aaron Carter’s holiday music video and I thought it was so cool, haha.
Song
“It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” by Michael Bublé
This one was really hard to decide, but I knew I wanted to choose a Michael Bublé song because he has such a great voice for Christmas music. “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” always gets me excited for the holiday season, so I’m going with that one.
Honorable Mention: I didn’t want to pick something so mainstream, but I really like “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. It’s a classic and even though I can’t sing, I can’t deny that I love to sing along to it.
So those are all of my Christmas favorites!! Trying to think of my favorite episodes inspired me to look at the top-ranked Christmas episodes of all time, so I think I’m going to check a few of those out. What are your Christmas favorites? 🙂
I love home alone movies! I used to watch them as a kid with my sisters and I still rewatch them almost every Christmas.

That Michael Buble Christmas CD is so good! My grandmother-in-law is obsessed with him, so we’ve listened to that song and the entire thing A LOT. Happy holidays!

That’s an amazing movie 🙂 It’s been so long since I’ve seen it so maybe I’ll watch it again soon! I don’t think I’ve heard it before, I’m going to look it up 🙂
